Welcome to the Soccer Manager 2026 FAQ!
On this page, you will find some of the most commonly asked questions and the answers to them. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please feel free to join our Discord server and ask there!
What is a “Continuous App”?
What are the benefits of a continuous app?
In previous years, you would have to start again from scratch with every release. This will no longer be the case as you move from 2025 to 2026. You’ll keep your saves, gold, boosts, and cash tokens as you upgrade. This will be the case every year, so you’ll no longer need to start all over again every year.
The continuous app will also allow us to release content more throughout the year. Rather than waiting for one big yearly release to add new features to the game, we can be more flexible and release new features at other points of the year.
How do the Ultimate and Enhanced editions work now that there is no new app every year?
Functionally, Ultimate & Enhanced will work as they used to. They will still be yearly recurring purchase – but with an added bonus! All of your currencies will carry over from year to year, so whilst things like ad-free will need to be refreshed, any of your leftover gold will come with you every year.
How will saves work between iterations of the game?
Seamlessly! When you download the update to go from SM25 to SM26, you’ll keep your saves and you will be able to carry on your careers for another year. We plan to maintain this support going into the future too, meaning that you might still have the same saves in a few years from now!
We will note that saves are forwards compatible but not backwards compatible. This means that if you join the SM26 beta and play your save, you will not be able to take it opt out of the beta and continue using that save in SM25 again. Saves can only be taken forwards between versions.
What is new in SM26?
Loads! Whilst we have spent a lot of our time focusing on bugfixes and improving the overall experience for SM26, we still had plenty of time to bring you new features like:
An all-new manager traits system, with fully-featured perk trees.
An improved matchday experience, with new graphics and animations for the Match Motion engine.
Upgraded daily objectives that give you more rewards than ever before and help guide you through the game.
A slick new UI, with a new colour scheme and upgrades to usability.
What platforms is SM26 available on?
Soccer Manager 2026 is available on Android, iOS, and Steam! We spent a lot of time optimising the Steam version to deliver a much better PC-specific experience this year too.
Help – all of my manager traits have disappeared on my new save, what can I do?
To give you the flexibility to try out new builds and playstyles, your manager traits are now save-specific. Don’t worry though – your attribute points are attached to your account. This means that any leftover attribute points that you have will carry over between saves, giving you a headstart on your new career. It is just the traits that will reset.
Will I keep my purchases between versions?
For items like gold, boosts, and cash tokens, your balances will carry over from year to year! This means you will not lose out on any purchases you have left over when upgrading from one year of Soccer Manager to the next.
For Ultimate and Enhanced Editions, you will need to repurchase these yearly to enjoy the full benefits of them. You will still keep the gold and boosts from these purchases, but things like ad free will no longer work until it has been repurchased. Any save slots gained from these editions will also be locked until you have upgraded to the new year’s version.
My club’s budget is lower than it was last year, why?
What is the Match Fit Initiative?
The Match Fit Initiative sums up all of the work we are doing on Soccer Manager 2026. For this year, we have decided to really focus on improving stability, performance, and overall playability – creating a game that is “match fit” and ready to play!
In practice, this means you will see fewer bugs, smoother gameplay, and a more seamless experience in SM26. The focus on rewriting core systems of the game has meant that we haven’t added quite as many new features to SM26 as we normally would, but the overall improvements to the game make this a worthwhile tradeoff.
I have had an issue with a purchase – what can I do?
The best place to get help with any purchase issues is through our in-game support portal. This can be accessed by going into the settings menu, and then into “Help”. If you submit a report through there, a member of the team will be able to handle it and sort it for you.
If you are on Android, please make sure you include the GPA number from your email receipt with any requests around purchases.
If you are on iOS and are requesting a refund, we are unfortunately unable to fulfil these ourselves. Instead, you can request one through Apple here: https://reportaproblem.apple.com/?s=6
Where can I report other bugs or issues?
There are plenty of places to report these! First and foremost is our Discord server, where we have dedicated chanels for bug reports and you can upload any screenshots or videos necessary to show us the problem you’re having.
You can also use the in-game bug reporter by going to settings and then to “Help”. If you submit a report through this, please wait a moment before exiting the game as this will upload your save file to us and help the team track down the problem you are having.
Can I restart my Soccer Manager account?
Whilst we do not officially support starting from scratch, it is possible to delete all of your data. This can be done through the in-game settings menu, but please note that this is a full reset and will remove everything, including in-app purchases.
How do I transfer progress between devices?
It is not currently possible to transfer your save files between devices. However, your manager profile (including your level, gold, boosts, and any purchases) will carry over between devices of the same operating system. This does, unfortunately, mean that you cannot pick up where you let off on PC on your iPhone, for example.
