Meet Katie, Junior Content Creator

Welcome back to another edition of the Invincibles Studio Employee Spotlight! Today, we sat down with Katie Egan, the creative whizz behind all of our social media quizzes and graphics. We spoke to her about her journey to joining us at Invincibles and about how she’s found working in the games industry.

Before becoming a member of the team, Katie was studying A-Level Graphic Communications, Media Studies, and Sociology at Cardinal Newman College. She was also a part-time Crew Member at McDonald’s, and through her interest in Graphic Design, she made the switch to Invincibles Studio in July 2022!

What inspired you to get involved in game development?

“Growing up with an older brother who is a big gamer, video games were a huge part of my childhood. From Animal Crossing on my DS, to Call of Duty on my XBOX 360, I spent a lot of my free time playing games growing up. Because of this, I had an interest in seeing what goes on behind-the-scenes to produce the games people love to play.”

How has your experience been since joining the company?

“Really positive! I’ve been able to develop my skills in Graphic Design and Video Editing, as well as learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro which I previously had no experience in.”

What has been your favourite part of working at Invincibles Studio?

“Working with different people in different departments – I’ve been able to get an insight into different areas of the company and the work that goes on. Also, I have been able to complete work that has gone into the game itself!”

What do you do outside of work?

“I am a big music fan so I spend a lot of my time outside of work going to gigs. Some of my favourite gigs that I have gone to include The Strokes, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, and Kendrick Lamar. I also recently learnt how to crochet so that has been taking up most of my free time right now as I have been making various crochet creations.”

Finally – favourite animal?

“Highland Cows.”

A huge thanks to Katie for taking the time to sit down & chat to us about her journey into graphic design!
